A Bit of Deutz-Fahr Histroy
Dave’s Tractor started carrying the Deutz-Fahr line in 2015. The Deutz brand dates back to 1864 when Nicolaus August Otto found Eugen Langen la N.A. Otto & Cie., the first engine manufacturing company in the world, known today as Klockner-Humboldt-Deutz (KHD) AG. The Fahr brand began in late 1800 when Johann Georg Fahr started producing threshers, and grain mills for farming.
Deutz built their first tractor in 1894 with a 26 HP Petrol engine while Fahr built their first tractor in 1938 with a 22HP Deutz engine! After many years of both companies manufacturing equipment (click link for more history), KHD acquired Fahr in 1968 and the DEUTZ-FAHR brand was born. They manufactured one million tractors by 1992 and in 1995 Deutz-Fahr tractors were sold to the Italian Group SLH, and the SAME DEUTZ-FAHR Group came into being. Same Deutz Fahr Group, now the largest privately owned tractor company in the world, manufactures the Deutz-Fahr tractors at three different factories; Italy, Germany and India.
Today, Bavarian Tractor Works in Kerman California is the authorized U.S. importer and distributor for the Deutz-Fahr tractor line. Deutz-Fahr tractors are known for their fuel efficiency, excellent reliability and ease of use. Dave’s Tractor is excited to offer the Deutz-Fahr tractors to support our local farmers!
